Sierra Vista Hospital Truth Or Consequences New Mexico
Sierra Vista Hospital is a 25-bed facility certified by Medicare and Federal programs. We are owned by a combination of public bodies, thus making us a true ‘community' hospital. The commissions that represent the ownership also appoint a Governing Body made up of local residents who have unique interests in our hospital and its success. We are fortunate to have interested parties that support a foundation and a very active Development Office that sustains our efforts to build a new facility. Our Auxiliary volunteers are devoted supporters with their efforts as well.
We offer a variety of services for a small facility: We have Medical and Surgical Services, Emergency Services as well as the Ancillary services necessary to support the different areas of care that we provide. The Ancillary Services consist of Laboratory, Radiology to include CAT Scans, Mammography and more. We have itinerant services for Vascular Studies and MRI
Our services include a Rural Health Clinic that provides for primary care on the premises where patients can get the services they need for quality care. Our support staff work with great dedication to provide for the Hospital's mission.
Sierra Vista Hospital also realizes our commitment to those who have emotional issues. We have a fully staffed Behavioral Health Outpatient Clinic. Our qualified staff offer the necessary support and referrals to our clients so that they may enjoy a quality life.We also provide Crisis Intervention through our ER.
We are one of the few hospitals to own and provide an Ambulance/EMS system to service the community. This talented and dedicated staff integrates into our Hospital through Emergency Services.
While we have competition for staff recruitment, in part due to our location and size, our current Hospital staff has quality, integrity and compassion. We are always seeking physicians and clinical staff to augment our contingent.

SVH SUPPORT TEAMS
Community Health Foundation
The Community Health Foundation was founded in the early 80's as the Sierra Vista Hospital Foundation. At its inception, various events were held to raise money for the Hospital, and Memorial Gifts were encouraged from the public. In 1994 the Foundation became a 501c3 and changed its name to The Community Health Foundation with the mission of raising money for patient care equipment . The Foundation consists of community members from Sierra County with the welfare of the county's healthcare first and foremost in their minds.
The existing Foundation is responsible for expenditure of over one half million dollars, raised for the benefit of Sierra Vista Hospital. The Community Health Foundation, among its events, has been most successful in hosting an Annual Golf Tournament with a myriad of sponsors and supporters. The Annual Golf Tournament has been held for 12 years and continues to be the number one event that tournament sponsors and golfers, alike, look forward to and support. The Foundation also operates a Thrift Store that makes good used items available to the community while supporting the work of healthcare.
Foundation members dedicate their time and efforts to improving health care in Sierra County through many events and Sierra Vista Hospital is grateful for their efforts

Hospital Auxiliary |
The Hospital Auxiliary is an active voluntary arm of Sierra Vista Hospital. Commonly known as the “PINK LADIES”, the Auxiliary members can be seen throughout the hospital: visiting and offering assistance to patients, directing visitors from the information desk in the front lobby, assisting various departments with clerical duties, working at the hospital gift shop, providing coffee & snacks in the coffee shop daily and by performing many other “unsung” tasks.
Recently, five new television sets have been purchased and are already installed in patient rooms. Plans are underway for the Annual Open House (November 18). Christmas items are arriving weekly and will be available for purchase at the Open House.
For information concerning the Hospital Auxiliary, or about how you can become a part of this invaluable organization, please contact the Hospital Auxiliary, at (575) 894-2111.
We had a cheerful morning at Sierra Vista Hospital today Monday April 5th. The Auxiliary Group who has been working hard at the hospital to raise funds for new equipment has just donated $4,124.51. The equipment purchased was Ophthalmoscope, which is a diagnostic tool used for checking optics deterioration for visualization, and a Spirometer, which is a full function asthma diagnostic tool, and will help people with cardiopulmonary asthmatic breathing problems. The Auxiliary group (the Pink Ladies) run the coffee and gift shop in the mornings at Sierra Vista Hospital Monday through Friday. The public is always invited to join us for breakfast anytime. They serve coffee, tea, and many homemade food items. It is a nice place to sit and visit. The gift shop offers many fine reasonable gifts for all ages. On behalf of Sierra Vista Hospital I would like to thank the Pink Ladies and commemorate their hard work for such a good cause. It is one more step in making our community proud for who we are.
